FTE, Ford's new dealership concept due to launch in October this
year, will set new trends in how cars are purchased and serviced in
Australia.
The FTE dealerships have been designed to deliver car buyers what
Ford is calling a "total ownership experience".
Ford Brand Manager Special Vehicles, Stephen Eyears, says
two-years of detailed research and planning have gone into giving
consumers the ownership experience that they want.
"The first step was to review the needs of that special breed of
car purchaser - the serious motoring enthusiast.
"FTE is designed to cater for people who have a deep interest in
motoring and want more out of their cars than just getting from A to
B.
At launch, the first cars available exclusively through FTE will
be the T-Series of performance sedans, and the sporty European
designed and engineered Cougar coupe.
But specialist product is just part of the story when it comes to
delivering total ownership experience.
FTE is pioneering use of the Internet to involve would-be buyers
from the moment they express interest in the order list. A special
FTE web site is being established, to provide on-going information
to potential purchasers.
Buyers will be able to track the production of their cars via the
web site, and see regular up-dated pictures of their ordered
vehicles throughout the production process.
The web site will serve as a virtual clubhouse for FTE "members"
where enthusiasts can swap information, exchange news and views and
indulge their passion for the vehicles.
To ensure complete involvement, purchasers will be invited to
visit the factory and participate in the production of their
vehicle.
Cars sold through FTE will be serviced by specially trained
mechanics who will be available to discuss the cars with the
owners.
"Everything about FTE has been designed to provide enthusiasts
with the ultimate experience in purchasing, owning and driving their
cars", Mr Eyears
said.
